We have two candidates running this year for district 17, Ro Khanna and Ritesh Tandon.

Ro Khanna (D) – Campaign Website

Ro Khanna (Democratic Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing California’s 17th Congressional District. He assumed office on January 3, 2017. His current term ends on January 3, 2021. In 2016, Khanna won election to the seat, beating eight-term incumbent Mike Honda (D) by 51,344 votes. Khanna was re-elected to the seat in 2018 after beating Republican Ron Cohen in the general election by a vote of 75 percent to 25 percent, capturing over 107,000 more votes than Cohen.

Khanna accepts donations solely from individuals and proposed the creation of the No PAC Caucus in the House of Representatives.

Ritesh Tandon (Republican Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent California’s 17th Congressional District.

Note: there have been some allegations that Ritesh is affiliated with some pro-Modi activist groups (Articles: Link, Link) – so feel free to take that info as you wish!
